Party Poker

I decided to cash out of Party (Thanks for charging me $2). The software is terrible and to say the site is now mostly euro there are not really that many tourneys on offer. F**k you Party.

I may have to stick with the 45 man sit and go's on stars and FT for now although stars do have an $8 + 80 MTT which just about suits my BR and time. I do like the 90 man sit and go's on FT as you start with 3000 chips.

There are also double stack tourneys on stars the problem is I am either asleep or at work :(

I like starting with 3000 chips because you can afford to make one or two loose or marginal calls early doors lose and not feel in shove fold mode.

Onto football matters. Hopefully an announcement by KMPG regarding the Leeds United situation will be made shortly and the Club can then concentrate on matters on the field ready for the upcoming season.

Update

Where was I?

The last post reported on Cell1919's
success so I'm going to hoof it up again cause a/ I'm chuffed and b/ It may make him laugh when us Leeds United nuts including Jo have very little to feel happy about.

Anyway enough Leeds United shite because that situation doesn't look like resolving itself for some time :(

What have I been up to?

I almost got flooded out (did I mention that in an earlier post?) but thankfully that situation was under control, sadly others who are still living in caravans b&b's or whatever weren't so lucky so spare a thought for those.

After reading a post on Cell1919's blog regarding Neteller I decided that I would also get myself some flexability with my roll. Although I mainly play at Stars and Fulltilt, I have played on Party and recently DTD poker and after opening the neteller account I made a deposit on Paddypower poker which I thought might have some tourneys starting at 20.00 GMT.

I have to admit, I had no way of cashing out from stars or Fulltilt and now I do which is definately +ev so now I have the flexability to move my cash around as and when although I have to say I am a little disappointed that stars and FT take 48 hours to cash out but I guess that just about acceptable.

Lately I haven't played cash games at all. Why? because i became so fucking bored again, i didn't even semi-tilt I just needed to play some tourneys so I did obviously you can check out my progress on official poker rankings or for my sit and go results you can check out my stats under 4everleeds on sharkscope and I'm doing okay at the moment despite a few suckouts although I seemed to remember dishing out one or teo myself lol :) I now have a roll of $800 and I hope that I can run this up to $1k over summer. We'll see how it goes.

Besides poker which has been going okay, over the weekend I felt really shitty and didn't feel like doing much at all besides lying horizontal on the couch so It's been great catching up with a few shows and films. By far the best show on TV now is entourage the best film I have seen recently is shooter and I have just started watching the sopranos (no spoilers please) and then as far as the 360 goes I'm playing a Champions league game, Forza motorsport and a few arcade games mostly zuma.

So what else? I'm reading the FT tournament stategy book by Michael Craig slowly. So far it seems decent and I have also bought a 14ft trampoline with protective netting for the kids, that's where I'm off now bounce bounce.

Cell takes down Bloggerment weeeee

I apologise for my absense of late, no particular excuses just not in the blogging mood. Hopefully (although I make no promises) I will be more proactive in the coming weeks.

I've just logged on to Cell1919 blog to find out he took down the bloggerment.

Now I have to say, I'm totally chuffed, I've always had faith in his game, after all his results prove he is a winning player even though all the beats may have worn him down from time to time. Having spoken to him on Sunday evening, I could hear in his voice that he was disillusioned with the game to say the least BUT I don't wan't to say that I may have helped him out with our chat but sometimes it does help to listen to a different perspective.

What's great about the game is it's so subjective. Every single hand can play out differently. How do you play pocket 6's utg 9 handed in a MTT? some people would advocate a 3/4 or 5 x raise, some would advocate limping and the weaker amongst us like me would always fold their 6's unless I have a nice juicy stack when i definately raise in that spot, it's so situational but you could argue that none of those plays are technically incorrect so there are hundreds of situations that are open to debate.

I guess that the point I was making was it helps to discuss things with mates especially when you are in pain with your game BUT only and only us know when we slip and semi-tilt and only and only us can stop the rot, go back to basics and play solid poker.

Okay I get the message :)

Nothing much happening still in terms of poker anyway. My time scale means I am decidedly short of tournaments to play at my level of buy in. I have played some cash games but not the mega sessions that allowed me to get silver status.

So on this wet Friday afternoon where the bottom of the road is almost flooded (I can imagine Cell1919 can see the picture) the water in the farmers field is overflowing onto the road and under the bridge, fortunately my house is far enough away to be safe.

I'm still racing away on Forza Motorsport 2 and also rented Dirt from Blockbuster the latest in Colin Macraes rally series on the 360. So games are where it's at for now with poker playing second best.

I'm also still having fun on the Nintendo Wii especially bowling. I hear that Gavin Smith also likes to play for $10.000 a game, I could kick your ass buddy but not for $10.000.

So, with there not being many tournaments on Stars or Fulltilt to suit my buy in i have had to play some sit and go's. Stars has not been so good for me, the last 4 sit and go's I have played, on every single occasion I have got involved with a garbage hand out of position, now this is something I am trying to work on.

An example could be playing A 10 UTG + 1 raising 3 x and being flat called by someone. An Ace flops, you c bet he flat calls, you should check fold because the chances are your beat. You throw another barrell on the turn and all of a sudden your starting stack might be down to 1000. So it's just easier to fold A 10 simple. So early doors I have been trying to tighten up my starting hands at least for the first few levels level.

On full tilt where the play is so much softer than stars in my opinion, I have had much more success finishing second in a $10 90 seat for a nice cash and also had a 2nd in a $5 tournament for another nice score. I now have according to sharky, a $137 profit on stars and a $155 profit on Full tilt gg me :) On the cash front I am pretty level really altough I have decided that I will concentrate on 6 handed only. No more full ring because its just so booooooooooooring yawn, I'm so tired.

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I was going to just pack in the blogging because what with the gardening, the gaming and work, I have so much other stuff going on.
